Project Estimator

Marshall Industries Limited is a mechanical contracting company operating in Labrador City, NL. We are currently seeking to fill the fulltime permanent position of Project Estimator. Please note that this is not a fly-in fly-out position.

Duties:

  • Preparation of detailed computerized estimates for Bid Packages
  • Performing Material take offs in accordance with project drawings and specifications
  • Ability to obtain cost estimates/quotations from vendors for materials, fabrication, rental equipment, etc.
  • Participation in project planning, project management & coordination of activities
  • Work with Construction Manager, Project Managers and Site Foreman regarding field change orders, RFI’s and other documentation as required
  • Project Management/Coordination activities including day to day liaising with Owners, General Contractors, and Site Supervision
  • This Position will work closely with Project Management Team to fulfill all project requirements.

The ideal applicant for this position will possess the following:

  • Post-secondary education, diploma, or degree related to the posted job description
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience as a Field Engineer or estimating, or an acceptable amount of experience and education
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret bid documents, project drawings and specifications
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Project, PDF, etc.
  • Is passionate about the work they do and excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and computer skills
  • Good problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • An effective team player with a positive attitude.
